The brief called for an efficient and low-maintenance housing solution suited to the rental market while delivering comfortable, contemporary homes. A key planning objective was to create an active and attractive street presence while ensuring privacy for residents and locating parking away from the public realm.

The townhouses are arranged around a shared internal accessway, with living spaces and private courtyards orientated north to maximise sunlight throughout the day. These outdoor areas look towards adjoining established gardens, borrowing landscape views and creating a sense of openness beyond the site boundaries. Car parking is positioned behind the primary building line, allowing the architecture and landscaping to define the street frontage rather than vehicles.

A durable palette of low-maintenance materials reflects the practical requirements of the development. The ground level is constructed from Island Block & Paving white cement-based brickwork, providing a robust base to the buildings. Upper levels combine Eucalypt-coloured Colorbond cladding with painted James Hardie Axon panels, creating a contemporary expression that balances durability, economy and visual warmth.
